Penalty: None

What do you do if your ball is on the wrong green?

PenaltyNone· under Rule 13

What to do

  1. 1Identify the nearest point of complete relief off the wrong green, not nearer the hole.
  2. 2Measure one club-length from that point to establish your relief area.
  3. 3Drop the ball within that relief area and play on with no penalty.

Based on the modern Rules of Golf (Rule 13), as published by the USGA and The R&A and effective from the 2019 revision. Local rules can modify some situations — check the scorecard or with the committee when in doubt.
