Birdie Conversion Rate
How it works
Every hole where a player has a putt for birdie is counted as an opportunity, and the holes where that putt is made are divided by total opportunities. Some versions require the putt be inside a set length, like 10 feet, to standardize difficulty across players and rounds.
What's a good Birdie Conversion Rate?
PGA Tour players convert roughly 30-35 percent of birdie opportunities from all distances, and well over 50 percent from inside 10 feet. Amateurs convert less, partly from fewer close-range looks and partly from harder putting without tour-level green reading and speed control.
