Putting Average
How it works
Total putts across all tracked rounds are divided by total holes played to produce a per-hole rate, then often scaled to an 18-hole figure for reporting. Like putts per round, it doesn’t separate GIR holes from missed greens, so it can flatter a player who scrambles well.
What's a good Putting Average?
PGA Tour putting average sits around 1.75-1.80 putts per hole in a typical season. Amateur putting averages cluster near 2.0, though as with putts per round, the number alone can be misleading without also knowing greens in regulation.
