Putts per Round

How it works

Every putt on every hole is counted and summed for the round, then averaged across a set of rounds. Because approach play affects this number so heavily, it’s best interpreted alongside greens in regulation or putts per GIR rather than viewed in isolation.

What's a good Putts per Round?

PGA Tour players average around 28-29 putts per round. Amateurs often post similar or even lower totals, which sounds good but is frequently explained by more chip-and-one-putts from missed greens rather than genuinely better putting.
